Honor, the sub-brand of Huawei, has launched out the feature of “Ride Mode” through Huawei Over The Air (HOTA) update in India solely for its Honor 9 Lite handset. The new function advises users to follow safe and responsible smartphone employment when using on a two-wheeler. “The ‘Ride Mode’ function will be helpful for billions of bike riders in India and encourage secure usage of smartphone while riding a bike,” Vice President of Sales at Huawei Consumer Business Group, P Sanjeev, claimed to the media in an interview.
After the update, consumers can the use the function by switching it on either by head to the Settings of the phone or from a drop-down menu of notifications, claimed the company. Once turned on, the caller will be alerted that the consumer is presently riding, and can’t get the calls. The function, on the other hand, permits the caller to call the rider in-case of emergency or urgency by pressing numeric one. The upgrade will be started in lots and will be concluded by the end of March, claimed the company.
The Honor 9 Lite provides a 5.65-inch screen with IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display. The screen also has a pixel ratio of 1080 x 2160. The screen also has a protection of Gorilla Glass 4. The handset is fueled by a HiSilicon Kirin 659 processor coupled with 3 GB/4 GB of RAM. The phone also has 32 GB/64 GB internal memory that can be expanded to 256GB via MicroSD card.
In the field of camera, the rear cameras are of 13 MP + 2 MP along with f/1.8 aperture, LED flash, OIS, and phase detection autofocus. The Honor 9 Lite has 13 MP + 2 MP of front cameras as well. The phone also supports a 3000mAh battery that is capable of giving 21 hours of talk time and 72 hours of standby time.
